The Zulu royal family in South Africa has announced the death of the first interim leader of the country’s largest ethnic group queen Shiyiwe Mantfombi Dlamini Zulu who succeeded the throne after the death of her husband king Goodwill Zwelithini.
The queen’s prime minister said the queen’s death was so sudden and that a successor of the 11 million nation has not been named yet.
“ It is wit deepest shock and distress that the royal family announces the unexpected passing of Her Majesty Queen Shiyime Mantfombi Dlamini zulu Regent of the Zulu nation ,” since Mangosuthu Buthelezi, the prime minister said.
He also assured people that there would be no leadership vacuum in the zulu nation. The queen was admitted to hospital a week ago suffering an unspecified illness, South African media reported.
Queen Shiyiwe was appointed as queen on 24th March after the death of her 72 – yearly husband king Zwethilini who died in a hospital from diabetes related complications.
