The high court in Kampala has declared the National unity platform’s Paul Nsubuga as the validly elected member of parliament for the Busiro North constituency.
This is after the trial judge Dr. Winfred Nabiside dismissed with course an election petition filed by democratic party’s Edgar Lubade that thought nullification of the victory of Nsubuga on grounds that he used academic papers of the different person upon nomination.
Lubade had claimed in his petition that the legislator is known as Peter Mukalazi and that he used the academic papers of Paul Nsubuga a different person to nominate for the MP seat.
In her ruling read by the court deputy registrar Agnes Alum, Justice Nabiside found out that Paul Nsubuga poses requisite academic papers having been verified by UNEB and the Head Master at which he sat his PLE form.
The judge dismissed the petition and ordered Lubade to pay for a course of the petition to the electoral commission and Nsubuga Paul whom he listed as a respondent in the petition.
