Uganda has today received more than 335,000 dozes of Astra Zeneca vaccines from the Irish government to help on the ongoing vaccination campaign.
Uganda aims to revaccinate over 4million people before the end of January next year as they also plan the re-opening the economy fully.
Receiving the donation at Entebbe international airport. The health state minister Margaret Muhaga said more efforts are needed to ensure the safety of every citizen.
“The ministry is currently undertaking massive vaccination campaign, we started with Kampala metropolitan area which is more congested compared to other areas on September 27 and now we are running out the vaccination campaign to the further villages of our country by 4 October 2021.
In conclusion, I want to assure you Ugandans that the vaccines are only safest and most effective proven by public health intervention for the prevention and control of Covid 19 pandemic”,Muhaga said.
The deputy head of the Irish mission in Uganda Nicole promised to continue supporting Uganda.
