The National Unity Platform general secretary David Lewis Rubongoya has been after his car being wanted on allegations his car is among that committed crimes in the recently concluded Omoro by-elections
“Today morning while driving via wandegeya with my driver Agaba Gordon, a traffic officer stopped us and claimed that my car is wanted on allegations of having committed a crime during the recently concluded by-election in Omoro.” David Lewis said.
He added that he was later released to proceeded to attend Hon Ssegirinya and Sewanyana’s court session however his driver was taken to Natete police station.
The secretary general was rearrested when he after the court session after going to check and follow up on his driver.
“We were briefly arrested at Wandegeya Police station and later I was released and proceeded to attend Hon Ssegirinya and Sewanyana’s court. However, Gordon was later driven to Natete Police Station for reasons best known to the police. After court I passed by Natete Police Station to follow up and surprisingly I’ve also been re-arrested.” Rubongoya confirmed.
